Sacraments (more Sunday School discussion)

1 November, 2009

We will do Sacraments. Baptism means we are a child of God. Communion we take the bread. Initiation is joining. Confirmation is joining as a grown up. Forgiveness is important. We are reconciled to God. A man and a woman can get married together. Sacraments are signs to show our closeness to God. They are our gifts from God. A man can get Holy Orders or a woman can too. Separate. They serve God and help people.

Journey to Center of the Earth - more comments

15 October, 2009

I read about Axel who was lost in the deep dark rock underground. He finally heard his uncle and Hans. But they were over 4 miles away from him. Strange acoustics along the cavern walls up and down they talked. He had to go down to them groping falling banging and finally fell with rocks down to them.

Vision Stimulation

12 October, 2009

A closet that is dark can be fun. But sometimes I do not have fun. I will be good next time.

A Prayer

4 October, 2009

Dear God, Father Son and Spirit.
I thank you for my friends. You three are my one friend. That is funny but true. I ask you to help my other friends. They need you. A prayer ends in your name. Amen. God.

God is our friend. (More Sunday School Discussion)

4 October, 2009

People we start now, please. We use our brains and hands to pray.

Jesus and I are friends. We talk when I pray. I say thank you. My parents are His gift to me. We are happy. I pray for good things for them. My stiff and bad times should be less. I pray to you God. You are Father Son and Holy Spirit. So be it. God is our friend.

Potato Experiment, First Bicycles & Clambering

4 October, 2009

Potato Experiment Discussion
The potatoes did not grow many eyes in our pantry. Even they were there three weeks. The most cut up one grew more. Plants try to grow roots.

First Bicycles
Macmillan's Bicycle was the first one with useful pedals. 300 years ago there were not mechanical vehicles for travel. I mean to go on its own. No horse or pony or other animal. Dandy horses did not have pedals.

Clambering
Daddy was surprised at how strongfast I clamber today.

I pray when I am lying down and when I clamber too.

His Holy Spirit lives in us and helps us. He helps me be good and pray for my friends.

I make a cross that says PEACE. It has a Jesus fish too and an Easter lily.

Jesus means God Saves. He saves us from our sins. Mary was told by an angel to name Him that. I read.

Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009

Prayer Discussion at Sunday School

Sept. 27, 2009
I pray before eating delicious food. I pray at bedtime too. I pray when I know my friends are sad or hurt. I pray some of the same prayers every day. They are formal prayers. They come from bible. I can make up a prayer to thank God. Sometimes we pray for people who do bad things. The sign of the cross is a prayer? Yes a little one before others. Grandmas and Grandpas should be prayed for. Presidents and church leaders should be prayed for. Even leaders who are not good need it. People who speak other languages need us too. I want a lot of food and fun with Daddy. I pray. Saint Theresa Catholic Church is our parish. We Know.

Thank You, Fish & Your Voice -For Emma

Sept 22, 2009

Dear my pretty friend Emma, I like the birthday box of presents you sent me. Thank you.

You draw your aquarium with a lot of blue water. My fish tank bowl is not a big aquarium. Do you shake salt into it. Mine does not have salt, but it grows algae that makes the ruins of Atlantis turn green. My fish change color too, but not green. Luke turned whiter, and Shark turned oranger.

I love you and see you in your driveway. You are awesome. You can speak with your voice. You make the bigs understand with your voice. Good.

Love, Joshua.

Happy Birthday Gramma

My Birthday Recon Walks, Joe Fix-it

Tuesday, September 1, 2009
Recon Walk #2
I want to clamber on the high board then go do recon later.
I pretend to be a soldier, and have to hold my pee. We were on a reconasince mission, way through trees and weeds so thick, and only one enemy was seen. It was an evil oppossum, and our war dog was wanting to eat it. We went through mud and branches that were full uncomfortable. I was not scared. I am brave. I will stand walk and run like a real soldier on our walks next year. War dogs sometimes bark too sharp.
Monday, August 31, 2009
Recon Walk #1
I want to eat more birthday cake. Then be with Daddy outside. A wagon to the trees is fun. We go on recon.
Sunday, August 30, 2009

Standing in VKE without knee straps

Saturday, August 29, 2009

Mommy I cannot stand well without the knee straps. I do not like having to straighten my knees myself. I hate it and only want to try it for a little time. Twenty minutes more is tolerable.

Daddy, I have you now.

Friday, August 28, 2009

Daddy, I have you now. You will play with me all weekend for birthday presents.

Tonight we will clamber on the high board please.

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

My birthday cake will look awesome with black and white soccer balls and candles.

Chimney Boy, Part 2

August 22, 2009

One day Henry found a dog on the way home. He was surprised to hear it speak.

The dog explained that he was not really a dog. He used to be a man, a wizard. A bad power full witch turned him. But he promised Henry's real parents he would find him.

Henry was shocked that his parents were not really his. And he was more surprised to learn his godfather was this dog.

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

The Chimney Boy, Part 1

August 8-15, 2009

One day a long time ago there was a boy who loved to eat sweet potatoes.

His dream was to have a big farm and grow as many sweet potatoes and pumpkins and squash and white potatoes and greens and beans and broccoli and carrots and turnips and asparagus and green peas and blackeye peas and purple hull peas and brussels sprouts and okra and rice and teff and millet and buckwheat and onions and garlic and rosemary as the grocery store. He would have his farm in Alaska so he could catch wild salmon. He would hunt so he could eat venison.

He dreamed for all this food because he was so hungry for something other than hot dogs.

The boy's name was Henry but everyone called him Chimney Boy. He had to sweep the chimneys all over the city. He only Henry was so busy working and his family was not nice. They only gave him hot dogs and took all his money he earned.

Henry the Chimney Boy wants to save his money for his farm, his tractor and all the seeds and the farm equipment he will need. He has catalogs and he dreams about driving his tractor.

Pets, Inside and Outside

Thursday, August 13, 2009

Dogs should always be free. But some people make them house pets. House pets are safe from cars and trucks and wild creatures usually. But outside pets get more exercise.

My dog Abby is outside. Ms Sandy's cats are inside.

Gypsy Moths

Friday, August 14, 2009

Ms. Sandy I have heard about moths but not gypsy moths.

Moths have transforming life stages like butterflies.

Do gypsy moths travel a lot like gypsy people?

Daddy, you come home tomorrow. I want you to. I miss you. I love you.

I want to see Daddy more. We watch DVDs and eat supper too. Poor Daddy only gets pizza not salmon.

Daddy, I see my snack. It is mango and raspberry and pine nuts. I see the red hay mower. It is waiting for Uncle Steve in the field.

Daddy, I spilled my pear and blackberry and almond smoothie everywhere.

Sports & Religion -To Grandma Eikmeier

Sunday, August 2, 2009

Dear Grandma Eikmeier,

I am happy you wrote to me so nice and friendly.

I know a little about baseball and football and soccer and basketball and tennis and softball. I have friends who play and coach teams in colleges. I cheer for Longwood University Lancers. I will play a sport one day.

I only watch a little television so I did not see the all star baseball game you asked about.

I would not mind learning about famous athletes like you do. Do you still have books to read about them? You said you were reading about their lives and their faith too.

I like to learn about religion. I go to church and Sunday school. I know Jesus. He loves us and died for us. He says that He is our Bread of Life.

Sleeping, Coughing, Ausgezeichnet DVD, Dog Book

Thursday, July 30 - Saturday, August 1, 2009

I sleep under my tent a long time today. I cough too much.

Being here with Daddy is delightful. A DVD has good big horses. We laugh and watch it together.

I like Daddy. I like animals. Watching DVDs about animals with Daddy is ausgezeichnet.

After breakfast we should pick a book and read it. It should have a wet dog in it.

Cinderella and the Flu

Monday, July 21 - Thursday, July 30

Cinderella
Cinderella works hard to please her stepmother and sisters and father. She is a good girl. She did what her magic godmother told her to do too. It seems crazy to collect a pumpkin and mice and a rat and lizards, but she did it. Her godmother's wand turned them into a coach and people to be her servants. Then the wand turned her ragged clothing into a fancy outfit for the ball. Cinderella was nice. She was even nice to her sisters, who were mean.

The Flu
Daddy, I have been sick and tired of the flu. I want to play with you again. I do not like being sick.

My Cousin's Wedding, Geschmeckt

Saturday, June 18, 2009

My Cousin's Wedding
Chris is my cousin. He was in church today and he got married. The girl sings pretty. There were a lot of people there. There was too much clapping today and last night too. But I am happy Chris loves Melissa. A reception is nice but I am not going. Too much noise today. I am sorry Chris and Melissa.

Geschmeckt
A butternut squash tastes geschmeckt. Sesame oil on fish is delicious too.

Sand Dollars are Echinoderms

Saturday 11 July - Sunday 12 July, 2009

Dear Mama Linda, I thank you for sand dollars and dark sand from Washington Beach.
I do want to know about sand dollars and what they used to be. I like to research and find information. I do it today.

Sand dollars are like sea stars and sea urchins, echinoderms.
They have flat circular bodies and tiny spines underneath. They crawl and dig with them. They find food in the sand and push it through grooves running to the center where the mouth is. The top of the sand dollar's body has breathing tubes in a star shape.

Sand dollars are alive when you find them wet and in the sand that will be wet again soon.
Ms Patty learned that they should not be taken if they are not bleached and dry. If they are all dried out they are dead already. If they are not dead when you take them from the beach you are killing them. Ms Patty felt awful for killing her sand dollars. But she just did not know. But do not worry because God will forgive us when we do not know we are doing it.

My Favorite Animals: Dogs, Appaloosas, Anacondas, Chimpanzees

Tuesday 7 July - Friday 10 July, 2009

Chimpanzees
Dear Scott, Chimpanzees are interesting. But they are not my favorite animals.

Anacondas
A snake called anaconda is my third favorite animal. It can squeeze and eat almost anything.

Appaloosas
My second favorite animal is Appaloosa ponies. They are a spotted American breed of pony. I like to ride one named Pollywog. There will be a new one this fall that I might like. I feel myself high on her back. I use my legs to tell her to go. I need to use my voice too. I try to do it right.

Dogs
The very best most favorite animal is dogs. There are many breeds. They can all be trained to be nice and good and smart and loyal. I have a mixed breed fluffy big dog named Abby. She cannot hear much but we know it was the sawmill. She likes to be with my uncles there.

Stuffed Animals
I have a stuffed Siberian Husky. Her name is Beest and she likes to play with my stuffed Anaconda snake named Lolita. Lolita squeezes but does not eat Beest. They are friends and they are not real animals anyway.

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

I like birds

Ms Jodi and dear Kyli,

I like birds but I do not think I want to be one.

I like Canadian geese a lot.

They fly a long way and work together and are good parents.

Why there was no patterning today

No Patterning?

All wet last night and it came out my mouth.

I want to eat my rice farina nowrighthere.

My Day Lilies & Snacking Outside

My Day Lilies
My day lilies have more red blooms today. Still no big Joshua blooms.

Snacking Outside

I want to eat my snack outside again today.

Naomi, and My Voice

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Naomi
Naomi is very nice to me. She should sit beside me to tell her stories.

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Naomi, continued
My friend Naomi talks to me and tells me about books she reads. Sometimes they are very funny.

My Voice
I like to use my voice. Sometimes people understand one word. I say whole sentences and stories and songs. But you do not know what I say. I do not type the same words I speak. I do not repeat. Birds sing and people hear and enjoy even if they do not know what they say. People can be happy even if they are ignorant. I am happy though I still want you to know.

My Responsibilities, Gardening, Icelandic Architecture, Bedtime

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

My Responsibilities
I have a lot of responsibilities, Ms Deb. I put away my bed sheet and blankets. I put away my RP tubing. I feed my fish. I take laundry to the laundry room. Those are all early in the morning. I also go potty and help to dress myself. And I pull out chairs at mealtimes. I do lots of things my family needs me to be helpful.

Gardening
But I do not grow my food only pumpkins and day lilies. My day lilies are yellow and orange and red and yellow. The big Joshua day lilies are not blooming yet this year.

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Icelandic Architecture
Houses in Iceland have grass growing on them. They are made of sod, which is thick soil and grass. Newer homes there are concrete or stone. A few are wood. When they attached toilets to the houses, many people would go at the same time. It was a communal activity.

Bedtime
Please put my plate in the dishwasher. I need my RP vest to lie down for bed.

Friday, June 26, 2009

Friday 11:30 AM

A long time in my room is over soon.

Respiratory marathon is followed by lunch, patterning, and clambering. Then I put on my harness so I can roll and cartwheel and jump.

I want a lunch now. I would love to have some sweet potato.

Thursday, June 25, 2009

Rocks I like, and Today is an Anniversary?

Rocks I like
I rock I like is kayanite. I like slate too. And tigers eye. Slate and kayanite are dark and strong but you can do things to them. You can scratch words or pictures on them. Tigers eye can be polished to look pretty.

Today is an Anniversary?
Daddy is talking about war. Today is the anniversary of the end of World War. No Daddy says that is not right. It was a battle on a big island. I was wrong again, except for the big part. The battle of Little Big Horn was in 1876.

Diurnal Creatures, Salmon for Dinner & More Clambering

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Diurnal Creatures

World War 2 Airplanes

Dear Isaiah,
My daddy has a lot of World War 2 DVDs and books. We watch and read about it because his daddy was a soldier in it. Today I read about B17 Flying Fortresses and B24s and Thunderbolts. But Mustangs are the planes named after wild horses. They had longest range and were called Little Friends.

Friday 19 June 2009

Answers to questions about White Star: A Dog on the Titanic by Marty Crisp

Eating
MAMAM MAMA MAMA I eat now please

Copper for Jodi & Kyli
Copper is supposed to be in all of us. But it can be too little, a deficiency, or too much, a toxicity. Anemia like symptoms are common in deficiency.

New GFE Harness
I like to go in my new harness for jumping and rolling up high off the floor.

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Guitars, Copper, Masking, Running, Potatoes

Guitars
Mister Johnnie, I know a little about guitars now. Acoustic ones are hollow and they are onlyloud because of the sound in there. Electric ones are loud because they are plugged in to loudamplifyingspeakers. Both types have strings and bodies and they are plucked or strummed.

Copper
I think I need to research copper for Ms Jodi and Kyli. The dog in the DVD called The Fox and the Hound was named Copper but I know you want to know about the metal. Copper is a transitional metal element on the periodic table. It is Cu. Ms Jodi I will look fun more research on copper for you.

Masking, Running
Masking is how I breathe deeply and quickly. Other kids run around and act silly to breathe deep. I will run too one day and race Daddy.

More Potatoes
I love more potatoes. I will eat eleven tonight.

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Poem for Daddy

Daddy's red car coming up the driveway
is the very best part of my whole day.

I know that very soon we will play.
And it will be all night he does not go away.

Favorite Foods, Underwear & Guitars

Favorite Foods
A smoothie snack of pears and almonds is great. I want it now please. My favorite foods are salmon and squash and venison and sweet potatoes and collards and rice and okra and aduki beans. I like millet but Mommy does not give me it puffed. Rice is puffed when the power is out. We eat cold food in the dark then.

Underwear
I like to wear underwear like Daddy. They are white and cloth and dry. And they have special holes. It takes skill to use them.

Guitars
Guitars are musical instruments I need to research.

Insects, Arachnids, Joseph & Television

Insects & Arachnids
Dear Aunt Brenda,
I like arachnids better than insects. They eat insects and other spiders too. An insect I do like is the praying manitis. It is a killer too. A male mantis is luck if the female does not eat his head. They will eat anything they are so hungry. Insects would take over the whole earth if arachnids and other creatures did not hungrily devour them. Maybe we should eat them too.

Joseph continued
Joseph has God on his side and in his heart. He will be freed and be a successful man. After two years the cupbearer remembered him and Pharoah freed him. He told him God's meaning of his dreams. Joseph told Pharoah they should store up food. He made Joseph his vizier. He was in charge of storing the food during the seven fruitful years and rationing it during the 7 years of famine. He got a ring and a necklace from Pharoah.

Television's place
The television should be there. Just for watching DVDs it should be there.

but eating is the best use of my time.

Plastic Brains, Art DVDs, Cement Mixers, Food

Plastic Brains?
An ability in the brain to change and do new things is called plasticity. Brain doctors are called neurologists and brain plasticity is sometimes called neuroplasticity.

Art DVDs
A Great Courses DVD about art does not have enough art in it. Bruegel DVD is better but the paintings are strange and too many people in them sometimes. Except the landscapes. I like them. The Sower is nice. They were before he was painting like Bosh. Bosh did strange art before Bruegel. Constant bunches of messy life people may have meaning but no heart filled love.

Cement Mixers
I have seen a cement mixing truck while I was driving in a car. It keeps spinning to keep the cement soft and wet inside. Cement can make a sidewalk or driveway or road

Food
I want to eat more.

Joseph, Awesome Oven

Joseph

Joseph had a long tunic. He did not have to work as hard as his brothers. His Daddy spoiled him. He was the youngest. Some of them were so jealous they plotted to murder him. Reuben stopped them. They only took his cloak and threw him into a cistern. Judah and the other mad and jealous brothers sold him to be a slave. Reuben was unhappy. Jacob their father, thought Joseph was dead.

Joseph was a good slave, but Potipher's wife got him in trouble. When he was in jail, he interpreted dreams God gave to the other royal prisoners. The cupbearer was happy with Joseph's prediction. The baker was angry. The cupbearer was given his old job and allowed to live. The baker was killed. Cupbearer forgot to ask Pharoah to free Joseph from jail. Joseph had to stay in jail longer and wait. He was sad and had to ask God for patience.

Awesome Oven

An oven is awesome. I like to turn the light on and watch the food cooking. The light should not be on if nothing is cooking.

Lion Puppets, Dog Coloring Book, Bedtime

Kyli and I both have lion puppets.

I like to please color a picture of puppy and goldfish. I will use markers.

I like to look at dogs. The new coloring book is nice. It is not informational, but it is big and fun to look at all the types of dogs.

I need pillows for going to sleep. Masks and CO2O2 too. My vest I can put on myself.

Poor Frogs, Mama Linda, Better Spelling & Hot Squash

Frogs do not have ears like our human ears. They are on inside of their heads. They cannot wear headphones. Poor frogs.

Mama Linda comes and we play today. She is fun.

I spell without Mommy on my hand now.

My plate is hot. My spaghetti squash wants me to eat it.

More Outside, Horses for Jodi, Learning Pictures for Emma

I want more outside play.

Ms Jodi,
I like you. You will take Kyli Kyli to ride a horse one day. I might go riding again this summer. I would love to have a horse that is an Appaloosa. A good name for my horse might be Delores the horse. She could have another name though. I have not met her yet.

Dear Pretty Ponytail Emma,

I love the letter and pictures. My pictures are for you to learn. Be patient with your Mommy. She will teach you a lot as she learns too. You please will send me your giraffe marker drawing.
Love, Loader Joshua.

Mayans

Mayans lived in Mexico and Guatemala.

Their ancient cities have glyphs. This writing is very hard to decipher.

There are people today who have Mayan ancestors. My friend Anna looks at a book about Mayans and says they are her people.

Archaeologists found a king's skeleton under a pyramid.

Beauty

A horse is beautiful.
A horse is Equus.
Sometimes a horse riding activity is called a equine event.

I love food. And painting.

The picture I painted was Doc, then it turned into me. Now I think it is Gramma.

Mommy and Gramma only eat oatmeal for breakfast. I eat millet and turkey and turnips and greens and peas. I love food.

I want eggs for lunch. And sweet potato.

A pan is on the stove. I want more egg to be cooked in it.

I love sweet potatoes.

Watercolor Painting, Daniel and Mister Terry

Watercolor painting sounds fun. I think I did it before a long time ago. The container they come in is bright, but the water makes them less bright. I want to paint like Doctor Perkinson. A visit to the library should include research on watercolor painting.

Daniel and Mister Terry like me. I like you.

I write for a blog now.

Turtles and Tortoises Report Notes and Outside

Turtles and Tortoises Report Notes

I am a mammal. Turtles and lizards and snakes are reptiles.

Anatomy
A turtle or tortoise has a thick shell, four legs, a head and a tail. Many of them can tuck in their head and legs and tail to protect themselves.

Habitat
Turtles live in or near water. Tortoises live on dry land.

Size
Galapogos tortoises are giant. But leatherback turtles are even bigger. They can grow to 1500 pounds. Some turtles are tiny, like mud turtles. They may be less than 5 inches long but they can be vicious and bite like snapping turtles.

Snapping Turtles
A snapping turtle lives here on our farm. He has not bitten us yet, but we do not play with him. He has a twelve inch shell and his tail and head make him 23 inches.

Outside

Daddy goes outside with no shirt on. He pushes the lawn mower.
Daddy is best at clambering outside with me.

About ART for Amy and Emma

Amy I do like Monet and Manet and Picasso and some of Rembrandt and lots of other bright painters. I like these pictures. Do you?

Eric Carle writes and draws baby books. I gave away them. He uses bright nice colors but Emma you are smart to like realistic and impressionistic better than Eric Carle.

All I know about AIR for Mama Linda

Air is usually 20 percent oxygen. Air has other gases too. Nitrogen is in air more than oxygen. Periodic table shows elements. Gas elements like oxygen and nitrogen mix with others. 1 Carbon and 2 oxygen makes carbon dioxide. Water is in air too. The gases 2 of hydrogen and 1 oxygen makes water. So the gases I know are in air are O2, CO2, N, H, and H2O. There others but not sure.

WOLVES for Laura

Canis Lupis is the name for wolves. The words that come after Lupis shows the subspecies. There are white arctic wolves and small reddish brown Mexican wolves. There are plains wolves and other grey and black and brown wolves. I do not know how many. Coyotes are related to wolves. We have coyotes here. I hear them.

Why the WALKER is called Hannah the Helper for Mama Linda

Hannah sounds like a nice girl Uncle Vince knows. And it sounds good with helper.

About mischievous DOGS for Catherine

Dogs like to run and play outside. Your kids should play more with the puppy outside. Tell the puppy to behave in the house or he will have to stay out. He might like it better outside anyway. The puppy Cooper will like very long time walks and runs in the deep trees. Animals are interesting and I tell people what I know about them.

OBEDIENCE

Brandon sits where I tell him to sit. He is obedient.

More About Loader for Priyanka and Love to Daddy

A loader is a machine with an engine. We do not have horses. Our loader is drived by my uncles. They put a big metal spike in front when they want to pick up big round bales of hay. A loader can then poke the hay and lift it high in the air. A uncle then drives it to the hay lot or barn.

Daddy, I love you like food. Yes you are the best. Daddy, people ask me questions and I answer. It is fun.

Gramma's New Walker

Hannah the Helper is Gramma's new walker. I like it. Gramma can roll her and park her and sit on her.

What I Am Like Now

I have grown a lot since that picture. I am big now and I do not crawl like a lizard. I creep like a cat and I can stand like a man. I can walk with help. Next year I will walk with no help.

A little learning every day is fun. I like to research in books. Especially the enclycopedia.

I like to climb and clamber to be high up in the air.

Front End Loader Moving Hay 23 May 2009

A loader is beeping. It is backing up. It warns a person to stay away.
